Heinrich Heidersberger (1906-2006) interpreted the architectonic Modern after 1945 as congenially as hardly any other.

His enthusiasm for structures and unusual perspectives characterized his works as a sought-after architecture photographer and made possible different collaborations with Alvar Aalto and Walter Henn.

The selection of photos in this exhibition catalogue shows the complexity of his work: scientific photographs and nudes as well as industrial and product photographs. Heidersberger achieved his independent artistic status through luminography – the recording of a light source in motion without using a camera. These rhythmograms created abstract objects of a mysterious beauty that still fascinates the observer.
