Thomas Kapielski (born 1951) works in various genres and professions as writer, poet, musician, photographer, philosopher and teacher. Brute humour, an strong moral attitude, and an ironical sensibility towards the banalities of everyday life, all this are trademarks of the artist's universe. He started photographing in 1984 and established an unusual kind of slideshows in the following years. The reliability of curtain hooks, the smallest travel agencies in the world, cars with wound eyes and other unique experiences were transported into slideshows.

Pictures from this three groups of topics are published in this book for the first time: vedutas, lamps and small animals (“Veduten, Lampen und Tierchen“). The introducing text was written by the artist himself, Hans Werner Lawos contribution "Gänsehaut"
("Goosebumps") describes the joy and agony of collectors and the essay by Christoph Virchow arranges Kapielskis photographs in the coordinate system of art and everyday- life.
