Focus on: Stephen Shore

Iconic giant of contemporary photography

American photographer Stephen Shore (*1947) is one of the most influential photographers of our time and a leading representative of the New Color Photography movement in the United States.

Alongside Shore in the late 1960s and ’70s, Sternfeld, Eggleston, and a host of American photographers exploded the boundaries of photography through the use of color. They captured American popular culture in straightforward, unglamorous color images.
