This week's darling: Louise Bourgeois – The Fabric Works
An exceptionally beautiful volume that sheds light on a stunning body of work:
This body of work began when Louise Bourgeois started incorporating clothes from all stages of her life into her art. The fabric works mine the themes of identity and sexuality, trauma and memory, guilt and reparation, and serve as metaphors for emotional and psychological states.
From 2002 onwards, she created works that vary from figures of flowers to chromatic abstractions, constituting a repertoire of truly surprising interweaves.
