A new perspective: A history of women photographers

Since the inception of photography, women have played an important role in the development of the genre, often pushing boundaries and defying social convention.

Despite their outstanding work, women photographers don't receive much attention in the major survey works on the history of photography.

This week's selection of books pay tribute to the brilliant work of important women photographers and show that the female view of the world challenges tradititonal ideas and goes beyond the perspectives known before.
