A long-lost edition featuring stunning prints by artists:
In 1988, Gerhard Richter, along with numerous other artists, contributed a print to the special edition of the publication La guerre sainte. In her book, author Liliane Durand-Dessert examines the writer Comte de Lautréamont and his prose poem Les Chants de Maldoror, which had a particularly strong influence on the French Surrealists.
For the special edition, the author asked various artists from her circle to engage with Lautréamont and his work. In addition to Gerhard Richter, who contributed four offset prints, there are prints by Giovanni Anselmo, Christian Boltanski, Gérard Collin-Thiébaut, Barry Flanagan, Gérard Garouste, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Giuseppe Penone, and Julian Schnabel.
The special edition includes 32 prints (17.5 x 25 cm, offset on various types of paper). An amazing treasure!
