Charlotte Perriand (1903–99) is one of the foremost figures in twentieth-century interior design. Together with her contemporaries and collaborators, such as Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier, and Jean Prouvé, she created many pieces of furniture we now consider classics, including the instantly recognizable LC4 chaise. Her pioneering work with metal was particularly instrumental in paving the way for the machine-age aesthetic popular throughout the 1920s and 1930s.

The third volume of this four-part definitive monograph on Charlotte Perriand, this book is dedicated to the years between 1956 and 1968. A main focus is on her relationship with the Galerie Steph Simon in Paris, of which Perriand together with Jean Prouvé was joint artistic director. Extensively documented as well is her commission with the rebranding and interior designs for the French national airline Air France’s offices around the world. Moreover, the book looks at Perriand’s significant, yet little known, contribution to the renovation of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, and sheds light at her close, yet likewise rarely published, links to Brazil.
