The fourth volume of the Catalogue Raisonné of the paintings by Martin Kippenberger, which will be published first, covers the complete work created between 1993 and 1997. 224 paintings are documented including the work number, title, year, technique, size, inscriptions, provenance, exhibitions and bibliography. Each work is reproduced in colour accompanied, if informative, by the respective template like preparatory drawings, photographs etc. followed by an overview of the unfinished works. Series and groups of works are arranged in chapters and commented by introductory texts. The authors comment on the genesis of each work as well as on references to own works and those of other artists. The apparatus contains a chronological index of titles with small illustrations in black and white, a list of exhibitions and an illustrated bibliography, which takes into account Kippenberger's special approach to the categories "exhibition catalogue", "artist book" or "book".
